PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP) FACIAL

Platelet-rich plasma facial also known by “Vampire Facial” is the latest trends in skin care, a minimally invasive procedure to rejuvenate the skin. PRP is derived from a portion of blood which contains platelets. Platelets stimulate cell turnover since they contain high levels of growth factors. It is essentially an energy boost for your skin. The Procedure

Blood is withdrawn from the vein into the tube.

The tube is then placed through a centrifuge to separate the platelets.

Once the platelets in the blood are separated, the plasma is then withdrawn from the tube with a syringe.

Microneedling, is a procedure to create thousands of microscopic needle holes into the dermis of skin. It is done prior to applying the platelet serum to the face as it will allow for channels in the skin to allow the for penetration.

Finally the treatment stimulates production of collagen.

Am I a Candidate?
Anyone with premature wrinkles, sun damage, dull and tired skin is a good candidate for the procedure. People with a history of blood diseases, clotting or bleeding disorders should not seek PRP treatment.
Are there any side effects?
Bruising, inflammation, swelling and redness are common side effects. They appear right after the procedure and typically take 4 to 6 days to disappear. You should avoid sun exposure during this time.
